125th Anniversary Curriculum Integration

125th Anniversary Events

The College is planning a variety of events throughout the year to help us celebrate the last 125 years at Etown and allow our campus community to embrace the rich heritage and vibrant culture of our institution. Check out the full events calendar and consider how you might incorporate these events into your teaching. Programs with significant potential for curriculum integration include:

  • Stories of Etown Speaker Series: These lectures will be hosted in the High Library throughout the fall semester and will include topics such as Vietnam at Etown, Women in Higher Ed, Black Lancaster, the history of the Conestoga in the region, and a Fraktur workshop. Reach out to Tara Moore if you are interested in building connections.
  • Peace Day Celebration: Celebrating the International Day of Peace, this day will celebrate with music, history and community engagement the ways we can create, participate in and be peace. Contact Amy Shorner-Johnson for more information. (Friday, 09/20/2024 from 11-2pm)
  • A student curated Art & Archive Exhibit in the High Library IDEA Lab throughout the fall semester
  • Music events throughout the year, including the Charter Week Kickoff - All Faculty Concert (Monday, 9/23/24 7:30 pm) and Celebrating the Music of Ephrata with Ephrata Cloister Chorus (Monday, 10/21/24 7 pm - co-sponsored by the Young Center)
