Earth Day: Earth Day Events

Community members of all ages are invited to learn about environmental issues and solutions in a family-friendly atmosphere. Our host of eco-conscious contributors and entertainers will educate, empower, and inspire our community to welcome environmental-sustainability practices into their daily lives.

Please note, Earth Day Extravaganza is (mostly) an outdoor event and therefore held weather permitting. We do NOT have a rain date.

Kids can receive an Earth Day themed scavenger hunt and sticker when visiting the Gardens! On Saturday, purchase ice cream treats with Sarah’s Creamery from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Included in admission, free for members.

How do you recognize Earth Day? Visit the State Museum on Wednesday, April 23 11:30 am to learn how reducing, reusing, and recycling throughout the year can help you, your community, and the environment by saving money, energy, and natural resources. Join us to recycle paper by creating beads for jewelry, estimate how long it takes for items to decompose and learn what vermicomposting is!

Family programs are included with general admission and designed for all ages.

At Greenfield, we work to better the world around us. Environmental Stewardship has always been a pillar for Greenfield, the High Companies, and the High Foundation. On April 16th from 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM, you're invited to our Earth Day Celebration. Held in partnership with the Lancaster Conservancy this event will be full of fun and educational activities, networking, music, and more!
