Collection Updates

Extended Free Access

At a time when we are all working from off campus, we would like to thank the following publishers for their extraordinary offer of free access to most or all of their online content through Spring 2020.  All of these resources will be familiar to our readers from our print collections or partial online subscriptions:

  • Annual Reviews - Now includes all content across all titles.  Our access normally includes all but the most recent 5 years.  This expanded access will be available until June 30th.
  • Bloomsbury Digital Resources - All online content published by Bloomsbury, which is known for their focus on the arts and humanities.  Includes all collections.  Available through May 31st.
  • JoVE Science Education -- Short videos focusing on laboratory demonstrations, which is a great complement to online courses.  We normally only have subscriptions to two sections, but this extends it to all content.  Expanded access available through June 15th.
  • JSTOR – Now includes their complete journal archive, more than doubling our available content.  Expanded access available through December 31st.

The best thing is that you don't need to remember to search for any of these resources separately!  All titles in these packages are fully integrated into QuickSearch and our Library catalog for the duration of their periods.

New Database

We also have a new platform available for streaming videos:

Swank Digital Campus - Will be used as an option for providing streaming videos unavailable through other sources.  List of titles available is built based on faculty requests.  Note that those listed only have 1 year licenses (expiration dates noted below the playback window).
