Getting Started

With links to a variety of resources just for your course, this guide is a great place to start your research!  Remember that these are only some of the sources that may be useful to you.  Please contact me for help with any of your research, Josh Cohen, x1453, or e-mail AskUs.

Special thanks to Elizabeth Young Miller for creating this guide!

The Research Process

Class Assignment

For your library instruction assignment, please find one resource, either primary or secondary, on your research paper topic. The resource should be either a scholarly article or a book. Post your name and a link to your resource in this Google Doc.

Be prepared to answer the following questions about your resource:

  • How did you find this resource (what database, catalog, etc., and what keywords did you use)?

  • How would you evaluate this resource/how do you know it’s reliable? (You can use the CRAAP test.)

  • How will this resource help you write your research paper?

  • Is this a primary or secondary resource?
